Dr. Abaskharoun shares how QCH’s new endoscopy equipment is transforming care in our community.

Thanks to the generosity of QCH Foundation donors, Queensway Carleton Hospital has transitioned to a new, state-of-the-art fleet of endoscopy equipment. This multi-million dollar investment includes advanced endoscopes, video towers, and AI-assisted technology that will support a wide range of procedures—from gastroscopies and colonoscopies to bronchoscopies and endoscopic ultrasounds.

This upgrade is more than just new tools—it’s a complete transformation in how QCH delivers care across the department. Multiple stakeholders including physicians, nurses, patient care aids (PCA),  biomedical engineers, Central Sterilization and Reprocessing (CSR), Facilities, Purchasing and Logistics, worked collaboratively to plan, install, and train on this new system. The result: enhanced precision, improved imaging, and a better experience for both patients and providers.

Because medical equipment isn’t covered by government funding, this vital advancement was made possible entirely by donors to QCH Foundation. Thank you for helping us continue to deliver safe, modern, and compassionate care.
