The Lumière Gala Returns to the Brookstreet this September!

Brookstreet has always been a rockstar in the world of hospitality. Now, the hotel is truly embracing the rock and roll vibe with this year’s themed gala in support of Queensway Carleton Hospital.

Lumière Rock Presented by RBC Royal Bank is being hosted by Brookstreet in collaboration with Wesley Clover Foundation on Thursday, September 5th.

RBC Royal Bank is returning to headline the sponsorship, joined by Royal LePage Team Realty, Brazeau Seller Law and Bennett Insurance. They’ve been so loyal to QCH, they’re like our version of a Swiftie.

“Let’s get ready to rock and roll,” said hotel general manager Nyle Kelly, who’s encouraging guests to don theme-appropriate attire for the gala. “It’s going to be a little less formal this year. I’m going to be wearing a leather jacket.”

Ottawa singing sensation Rebecca Noelle’s will be turning the dial up to eleven. As for food and drink, Brookstreet will be serving the very best in gourmet culinary delights, paired with offerings from local breweries and wineries. Guests can also look forward to silent and live auction prizes that will blow their mind.

Lumière Rock will be capped off with its signature fireworks display by Capital Pyrotechnics. It will be choreographed to music — rock music, of course.

We can’t wait to see what Carole Saad, owner of premier event design company Chic + Swell, has planned. She’ll be working her magic to transform the venue into a vinyl lounge through her expert use of dark hues and metallics. Her vision is to craft an atmosphere that’s both dramatic and festive.

Partygoers can also get into the groove with some bourbon tasting. Don’t worry if you’re stumped on how to dress; Brookstreet will have accessories available to help you unleash your inner punk rebel or metalhead. Guests will also have an opportunity to Fly Like an Eagle, à la Steve Miller Band, in the hotel’s new flight simulator.

The Lumière Gala spans over 20 years, originating in 2003 to celebrate the opening of Ottawa entrepreneur Terry Matthews’ upscale hotel located in Kanata’s business and tech hub. The evening serves as a fun and exciting way to reconnect with friends, colleagues, and clients after the customary summer holidays. It typically draws between 500 and 600 guests.

To date, Lumière has generated more than $1.5 million for various charitable causes. It began partnering again with QCH Foundation in 2023, raising more than $120,000 last year.

Nyle calls it the perfect pairing; one that goes together like rock and roll. The QCH Foundation team “are phenomenal to work with,” he added.

Brookstreet recognizes that QCH is vital to the west-end community. “It’s very important that we have the best health care possible for all the people who live here,” said Nyle, whose own two children were born at QCH. “I’ve been there millions of times. Well, maybe not millions, but it does feel like that sometimes.”

We encourage you to get your exclusive entry into this year’s Lumière Rock by purchasing either a $220 individual ticket or a group of 10 tickets for $2,000. For more information please visit www.brookstreethotel.com/lumiere.
