The wintery weather that arrived this month has been welcome news for Theo Harwood. The four-year-old happens to love playing outdoors especially building forts, skiing and tobogganing on his new GT Snow Racer.
But, after all that fresh air and hard work, Theo happily volunteers to be a taste-tester for his mom, Catherine Harwood. Over the holidays, Catherine stumbled on an interesting cookie recipe on the New York Times Cooking website. As avid baker, she customized the recipe to make it easier and more family-friendly – and the result was an instant hit with Theo.
“He loved them right away because they are sweet, chocolately and chewy,” shares Catherine.
Along with spending quality time with her family, Catherine enjoys her role as Associate Director of Major Gifts with the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation. She has been with the Foundation for more than three years and loves working with individuals in our community to help raise funds in support of the top priorities at the hospital.
“It’s truly rewarding working with our community members. I love hearing their stories and connecting donors with healthcare projects that are meaningful to them,” explains Catherine. “Our donors continue to inspire me everyday with their generosity and commitment to improving patient care.”
