Accora Village Bed Race for Kiwanis – a staple of Winterlude for more than 30 years – made its triumphant return to the Byward Market after a three-year hiatus.
Over 20 teams gathered on a chilly afternoon in February, including Team QCH Foundation, competing for top honours in this fun-filled competition. After the last race was completed, it was the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 96 who crossed the finish line with the fastest time. Along with the victory, the team celebrated their 10th year as participants in the bed race challenge.
We are incredibly grateful to all the participants, volunteers, donors, organizers, and many others for making the Accora Village Bed Race a huge success. As one of the recipient charitable groups, we are thrilled to report that $10,000 was raised in support of QCH Foundation. Those funds will be directed towards the highest priority needs at the hospital including the purchase of essential medical equipment and upgrades to our surgical suites.
