For over 24 years, Carole has been a dedicated supporter of Queensway Carleton Hospital (QCH), generously giving her time and resources to ensure that others receive the same exceptional care she did when she needed it most.
Carole’s connection to QCH began many years ago when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Throughout her treatment and recovery, she and her husband received compassionate care at the hospital multiple times. The warmth and compassionate care of the medical staff left a lasting impression on her.
“I’ll never forget the nurses who would greet me with a hug when I came to visit my husband. They made me feel like I was family,” Carole reflects. “QCH became more than just a hospital to me—it was a place where she was treated like family.
“When my husband passed away in 2004, I decided to give back by volunteering,” Carole explains. “And I’ve been here ever since—21 years of volunteering. It’s been a very rewarding experience.”
But Carole’s commitment didn’t stop there. Soon after, she became a monthly donor, drawn to the hospital’s culture of care and its dedication to providing the best medical resources for patients.
“Being a monthly donor just felt right,” Carole shares. “It’s a way to know that my support is continuous. I don’t have to worry about making a large donation; I know that I’m contributing consistently, which helps QCH in ways I can’t even imagine.”
Over the past 16 years as a monthly donor, Carole’s contributions have helped fund vital medical equipment and support patient care. She knows firsthand how crucial these resources are, and how steady support allows QCH staff to plan for the future with confidence.
“The hospital is growing so much, and as a monthly donor, I feel like I’m part of that growth. It’s more than just a donation—it’s about knowing I’m helping ensure that patients continue to get the best care, every day.”
“Monthly giving helps the hospital plan for the future. It ensures they have the resources they need, and that’s something I’m proud to support.”
Carole’s story shows how one person’s dedication can make a real difference — not just through volunteering but through consistent giving.
