Visionaries Breakfast Inspires Outpouring of Support
It’s incredible to think that our amazing donor community at QCH raised more than half a million dollars for our beloved hospital while most of the city was just waking up.
We remain deeply grateful to each and every sponsor, donor, board member, table captain, and volunteer who supported our Visionaries Breakfast on March 27. Hundreds turned out to the Brookstreet Hotel to honour the legacy of the late Irving Greenberg and Shirley Greenberg, both of whom helped to make QCH the outstanding healthcare facility that it is today, full of caring and compassionate staff dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to all our patients.
“It was their commitment to building strong, healthy communities, where families could thrive, that led to their long-standing support toward the expansion of the Queensway Carleton Hospital,” said Shannon Gorman, president and CEO of QCH Foundation, at the breakfast.
Looking ahead, however, we still have a lot of work to do. QCH serves a population that is quickly growing, as well as aging. Our emergency department is one of the busiest in the province and is “stretched to the limit,” our hospital’s president and CEO, Dr. Andrew Falconer said at the breakfast.
We can assure you we’ll be putting the $515,238 raised from the Visionaries Breakfast to good use, to purchase life-saving medical equipment — a vital investment made possible solely through the generous support of our donors.
