May 2, 2020: ‘The pinnacle I never wanted to see’: How a hospital reinvented itself to face the challenge of COVID-19 – Ottawa Citizen

Just weeks ago it was welcoming hotel guests. On Tuesday — with carpets torn out, hospital beds installed and nursing stations set up on one of its floors — Kanata’s Fairfield Inn and Suites temporarily became part of the Queensway Carleton Hospital. By the end of the day, 12 elderly patients were settled in their new hospital rooms in the four-storey hotel with a view of the Canadian Tire Centre.
