We were honoured to welcome the CURE Foundation team on February 20, to thank them for their generous $100,000 gift towards a new 3D mammography machine for Queensway Carleton Hospital.
Foundation and hospital staff, volunteers and board members gathered to celebrate this gift, and reveal the newly dedicated CURE Foundation Patient Scheduling Room in our Diagnostic Imaging Unit.
With this significant donation and the support of our community, we are now at 94% of our $800,000 fundraising goal for our Mammography Campaign. The 7,500 people who come to us annually for mammograms will soon have access to the latest in breast cancer screening technology, that will allow for more accurate screenings, earlier diagnosis, and ultimately more lives saved!
As a national foundation, the CURE Foundation strive to raise breast cancer awareness among Canadians and help explore all possible avenues in the fight against breast cancer, to ensure no lives are lost due to a lack of funding.
“With respect to the Queensway Carleton Hospital Mammography Campaign, we are proud to support a designated Ontario Breast Screening Program that makes screening available to so many patients. Breast cancer that is detected earlier can be treated earlier and can result in better outcomes for patients.” – Robyn Dalton, Executive Director, CURE Foundation
Thank you CURE Foundation for your investment in the advancement of healthcare of our community!
