QCH Vaccine Clinic is Now Open

A look inside QCH’s COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic.

Queensway Carleton Hospital’s COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic officially opened on March 11, one year after COVID-19 was first confirmed in Ottawa.

Our very first shipment of COVID-19 vaccines arrived at QCH on Wednesday, March 10, and our COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic opened the very next day – ready to vaccinate groups identified through Ontario’s COVID-19 Vaccination Program.

“It’s been a hard year, but seeing the vaccines arriving has filled me with hope and excitement for the future,” says Dr. Andrew Falconer, President & CEO.

Our Vaccine Clinic is opening one year to the day COVID-19 first arrived in Ottawa – a wonderful full circle moment for Ottawa and our community.

Maria Paulina Cortes (pictured below), a Medical Office Assistant from Sandy Hill Community Health Centre, was the first person to get the COVID-19 vaccine at our clinic.

Appointments will be contingent on the availability of the vaccine and will be booked by QCH with those groups identified through Ontario’s COVID-19 Vaccination Program. Appointments are not available for the general public at this time. Walk ups are not permitted.
