Overwhelming Support for our Mother’s Day Campaign!

Chelsea Gray, QCH Registered Nurse poses with the new Infant Incubator that will help her care for QCH’s tiniest patients in the Special Care Nursery.

Thanks to YOU, our incredible community of donors, we raised $49,000 through the Mother’s Day fundraising campaign to support the purchase of an infant incubator for QCH’s Special Care Nursery. At the cost of $35,000 per unit, this campaign far surpassed our goal thanks to your extraordinary generosity.

QCH’s tiniest patients will benefit from this new equipment, which features advanced technology. Inside an incubator, premature or babies born with health concerns rest on a heated cot in a temperature and humidity controlled environment to support their continued development until they are strong enough to be released from the hospital. The importance of this equipment was reinforced by Beverly Thornhill, Clinical Manager of QCH’s Special Care Nursery.

“This specialized equipment allows us to ensure our littlest patients, who sometimes have difficulty regulating and maintaining their body temperature, are being cared for in the most optimal environment.” she says. “On behalf of the childbirth program team and our patients, thank you from the bottom of hearts for funding this integral piece of equipment.”

Thank you to all of our wonderful donors who helped to raise the funds for this important piece of equipment.
