OTTAWA SENATORS FOUNDATION, PHILLIPS AND RICHARDSON FAMILIES DONATE $100,000 TO HOPES RISING CAMPAIGN FOR MENTAL HEALTH

Ottawa, ON–The Ottawa Senators Foundation, along with the honourary chairs of the Hopes Rising Campaign for Mental Health, Chris and Erin Phillips, and Do It For Daron’s Luke and Stephanie Richardson announced today a gift to the Queensway Carleton Hospital of $100,000.

Through its success, this campaign will help Queensway Carleton Hospital deliver the right mental health care, at the right time, by the right people and in the right setting. “I cannot express how grateful we are for this generous donation from the Ottawa Senators Foundation and the impact it will have on our Mental Health program, the staff and most importantly, our patients,” added Tom Schonberg, President & CEO of Queensway Carleton Hospital. “The Hopes Rising Campaign and the support from the Phillips and the Richardson families will allow us to move forward with this vital project which helps supports so many people – both young and old – in our community.” The HOPES RISING campaign donations will support a new, therapeutic environment to deliver the best in holistic mental healthcare for patients and families at Queensway Carleton Hospital. The mental health unit has not had any renovations or enhancements since it opened in 1976.Funds raised will support an extensive renovation of an aging Mental Health Unit at Queensway Carleton Hospital, provide enhanced emergency programs and services for people in a mental health crisis and, help strengthen connections to community mental health support services.
