Ottawa, ON – Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation receives a $100,000 gift from Ottawa-based real estate development firm, Morley Hoppner towards the HOPES RISING campaign for Mental Health.
“We have all grown up within a 5 km radius of the Queensway Carleton Hospital, and we believe in developing communities, not just land. We are grateful that we are personally involved in the community and dynamic enough to make a positive impact on the livability of our city”, said Ken Hoppner, partner, “Our hope is to help build a level of care that is more consistent with modern, therapeutic mental healthcare for the communities we build and live in”
The HOPES RISING campaign donations will support a new, therapeutic environment to deliver the best in holistic mental healthcare for patients and families. The mental health unit has not had any renovations or enhancements since it opened in 1976.
“It has been inspiring to work with Morley Hoppner over the past several months on our Hopes Rising campaign. This is a firm who is sincerely invested in our community on so many levels. This gift demonstrates exceptional leadership and compassion for our community,” said Melanie Adams, President and CEO Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation.
HOPES RISING is a campaign inspired by the hopes of families throughout our community to enhance QCH acute mental health services for adults of all ages in the greater Ottawa region. Through its success, this campaign will help Queensway Carleton Hospital deliver the right mental health care, at the right time, by the right people and in the right setting.
Funds raised will support an extensive renovation of an aging Mental Health Unit at Queensway Carleton Hospital, provide enhanced emergency programs and services for people in a mental health crisis and, help strengthen connections to community mental health support services.
