Cooking with the Q: Dr. Falconer’s Maple Fudge

February Celebrity Chef: QCH President and CEO, Dr. Andrew Falconer

Dr. Falconer, President & CEO, Queensway Carleton Hospital.

Dr. Falconer began his career with QCH as an emergency physician back in 1987 and served as QCH’s Chief of Staff from 2008 to 2019 before taking over the top job at the hospital.

When we asked Dr. Falconer to share one of his favourite recipes, the one he selected just happened to have a connection to the team at QCH. As the story goes, Dr. Falconer’s wife Rachel was trading recipes with a friend, who happens to be a nurse at QCH, and stumbled on a quick and easy recipe for Maple Fudge. She made the yummy treat for her family and they LOVED it! The Maple Fudge was such a huge hit that it is now a staple dessert in the Falconer/de Kemp household.

And, it’s so popular that every year before the holidays Rachel makes batches and batches of the sweet dessert to package as gifts for the QCH senior leadership team. Yummy!
