Hosted in the QCH Myers Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) Unit space, by BOMA Ottawa.
Standing in the vast open space that will soon be QCH’s new Myers Automotive Acute Care for the Elderly Unit (ACE) in the James Beach Health Centre, Cal Kirkpatrick, President of Colonnade Development tells the story of his parent’s journey through the healthcare system.
The audience, his peers at the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA)listen and nod, many have similar stories of their own. At the end of his speech, Cal announces a challenge to kick off BOMA’s two-year support of the ACE Unit. Colonnade Development announced they will lead the campaign with a matching gift challenge to all members and associates up to $100,000.
By the end of the evening, that challenge had been answered with a total of $85,000 in support. As of December 1, only two weeks after the announcement, BOMA and Colonnade have raised more than $220,000…and the challenge is still going!
