A meaningful legacy

Harvey Steinwald, Former Chancellor, Aurora Lodge Knights of Pythias & Nadine Fowler, Director of Philanthropy, QCH Foundation

We are pleased to share that Aurora Lodge, Knights of Pythias, recently made a generous gift of $12,750 to our QCH Foundation COVID-19 Fund. This gift will help purchase two smart pumps and a vital signs monitor – both high priority equipment for our hospital this year.

Over the 50 years that the service club has been operational in Ottawa, members have raised thousands of dollars to support the good work of several local charitable organizations, including QCH.

In the spirit of the club’s guiding principles – Friendship, Charity and Benevolence – dedicated members Harvey Steinwald and Stephen Asherman felt a donation to QCH would be a meaningful legacy to leave for our community, as the club winds down.

“Our families have used your hospital on many occasions and we want to help in providing the latest equipment for everyone’s benefit.” – Harvey Steinwald, past Chancellor, Aurora Lodge, Knights of Pythias

We’re so grateful that Harvey and Stephen chose to support healthcare for our community – now more than ever. The equipment their gift will purchase is important for the care of COVID-19 patients, and others in every department of the hospital. Thanks to them, and all the caring Knights who contributed for this great act of kindness.
