Each day, hundreds of patients turn to the QCH Emergency Department for urgent care and some of those who require admission to the hospital will wait for hours on a stretcher in the hallway until a bed becomes available.

Using an innovative approach, QCH has repurposed space inside the hospital to build a comfortable, modern, fully-equipped space for 15 patient care bays. This new unit is located close to the Emergency Department, Diagnostic Imaging Department and Operating Rooms for fast, efficient, and integrated care.

Responding to the urgent healthcare needs of our community, the space was transformed in a few short weeks during the height of the pandemic, without any funding from the government.

Your donation will help cover the cost of this project, which has increased QCH's capacity and is helping ensure the needs of patients who come to our Emergency Department are met during a critical time.
