Aaron, one of our wonderful Environmental Services team members at QCH, recently went above and beyond helping some visitors at our hospital. Kathryn, one of the visitors, was so grateful for his help that she chose to recognize him as a Champion of Care and make a donation to QCH in his honour.
She shared the following message with Aaron and our QCH Foundation team:
“You were working maintaining the floors on C4… we were very disoriented in trying to find our way to the Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) Unit. When I asked you for directions, you were quick to volunteer to take us to the correct place to find our destination. An organization runs not only on its major accomplishments, but also on the day-to-day ones, such as the one you offered to us, which makes an organization, especially a hospital, a welcoming environment.
We wanted to do something to recognize how much we appreciated your efforts and your engaging conversation as we found our way. You are an excellent representative for QCH staff and deserve to be recognized for your role as a Champion of Care. We trust that your personnel record will show that your extra effort has contributed to QCH not only as a medical organization, but also as a people-centered place.”
Congratulations Aaron on your well deserved Champion of Care nomination, and thank you Kathryn for your generous donation and leaving this amazing message for Aaron and our team. We are so proud of the QCH culture and we are glad to hear of this wonderful experience.
