Dr. Vanessa Gervais, Dr. Adrien Selim and their two young boys, Zachary and Noah, are stepping into shape this fall and committing to hike 10km from now until October 15 to raise funds for urgently needed equipment at Queensway Carleton Hospital (QCH). With close ties to QCH, this amazing family wanted to support our hospital in any way they could.
Dr. Selim is a QCH Emergency Room (ER) physician. He has been working on the frontlines at our hospital since the pandemic began and understands firsthand the financial support our hospital needs right now. His ER journal club team made the collective decision to participate together in the Hike for Healthcare to help meet these needs.
This commitment extended beyond his team at QCH when his wife, who is also a physician, Dr. Gervais, and their sons joined him on his hike.
“I really think that it’s important to support QCH as it is a vital part of the community we live in. We feel fortunate to have such a great hospital in our community. Spending time outside, being physically active in nature, and simultaneously raising money to support our local hospital. For parents, I think it’s a great way to teach your children the value of service to your community.” Dr. Gervais shares.
We are so thankful for your support Vanessa, Adrien, Zachary and Noah!
