The 2016 QCH Foundation AGM was a gathering of the Board of Directors and also a celebration of those who are leaving and those who are coming on board (pun intended). It was also a celebration of the 40th anniversary of Queensway Carleton Hospital, where longtime supporters, board, and hospital staff joined the AGM to reminisce and witness the changes Hospital has undertaken over 40 years, as it grows with our community.
When QCH opened its doors in 1976, the community it served was 60,000 people. Now, in 2016, QCH serves a growing population of over 400,000 people. The Hospital has grown to meet the population’s needs because of a caring community’s support over the decades. THANK YOU!
Board Chair, Alan Whitten has ended his term on the Board. Alan was an exceptional catalyst in fundraising and leading our Foundation in supporting Queensway Carleton Hospital. Through is tenure on the Board and as Chair, the Foundation raised $30 Million for the Hospital. Alan won’t be going too far! He will be joining the Foundation’s Campaign Cabinet, raising funds for Advancing Care For All Ages. Thank you for everything, Alan!
Kathy Turner will also be leaving the Foundation Board of Directors, as her term ends. Kathy was very deeply involved with the hospital and our fundraising campaigns. Her connections and tireless efforts resulted in the Foundation achieving our fundraising goal of $35 Million for Care Grows West. We are very happy to say that Kathy will be continuing on with the Foundation in the Hopes Rising Campaign committee – a $5 Million campaign for Mental Health, where we are already at nearly $2 Million of our goal. Thank you, Kathy!
